Process work for the October 2017 List Opener

Harper’s BAZAAR has showcased the visions of legendary editors, art directors, photographers and stylists since 1867. Page designs completed during this internship include the Horoscope, the List Opener, and both the Editorial and Publisher mastheads for the October 2017 issue as well as the My List: 24 Hours with Natalie Portman in the September 2017 issue. All of the layouts were published.

The Horoscope  /  October 2017
Worked with the Senior Accessories Editor and Accessories Director to create this design. A symmetrical layout was created to convey balance, order and harmony; all characteristics of Libra.
The List Opener  /  October 2017
Collaborated with the Senior Accessories Editor and Accessories Director to piece this page together. I was instructed to choose assets that would be good well together in an outfit and be versatile enough to mix and match. The designs I ultimately favored Monse, Chanel and Louis Vuitton to exhibit the autumn graphical trend that consistently reoccurs.
The Editorial Masthead / October 2017
The color of the Bulgari necklace was retouched and the chain composited to hang evenly around the Harper’s BAZAAR mark. The colors of the necklace in the original photograph were not true to the actual jewelry. Visual research was done to be able to match the tones and textures properly.
The Publisher Masthead / October 2017
The color of the David Webb necklace was retouched and the chain composited to hang evenly around the Harper’s BAZAAR mark. The colors of the necklace in the original photograph were not true to the actual jewelry. Visual research was done to be able to match the tones and textures properly.
My List: 24 Hours with Natalie Portman / September 2017
Circular text wells were created as a way to allude to a clock based on the editorial time concept. This layout required images of Natalie in Dior as well as products in the "Must-Haves" section since she was an ambassador for the brand.
